About this project
The project seeks to break the cycle of generational poverty by empowering underprivileged, rural young mothers aged 14 to 25 in the Magu district of the Mwanza region, Tanzania, with vocational, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business skills. It supports abandoned and the neediest rural young mothers in building sustainable livelihoods, improving their economic power, and becoming socially accepted and self-reliant contributors to their families and communities. By providing training, small startup capital and ongoing accompaniment, the project enables these women to create income-generating opportunities, access job markets, and change the trajectory of their lives and those of their children.

ECYMT – the project aims to support 200 rural neediest young mothers by 2030 through skills training, economic empowerment and the establishment of an inclusive training centre with boarding facilities, transforming lives and strengthening communities in rural Tanzania.

Objective
To break the cycle of generational poverty among underprivileged, rural young mothers aged 14 to 25 by offering support and skills opportunities to enable them to change both their livelihoods and their children’s lives and become development actors in their communities.
Implementation coverage
This project helps abandoned and neediest vulnerable rural young mothers in Bujora, Kisesa, Bujashi and Bukandwe wards, Sanjo division in Magu district, Mwanza region in Tanzania.

Provide different needful vocational, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and business initiation skills training to 200 rural abandoned and neediest rural young-mothers in different batches to help them create income-generating activities and vie for available jobs opportunities for their subsistence by December, 2030.
Improve the income and economic power of 200 rural neediest young mothers by proving them with small-startups capital and accompaniment in their initiatives to enable them to be economically self-reliant and socially acceptable by December, 2030.
Raising funds amounting to US $ 200,000 to initiate, build and run an inclusive and innovative skills training center with boarding facilities to help more rural neediest young-mothers to create pathways for them to live a sustained and dignified lives and bring changes in their communities by December, 2030.
